Set up custom data categorization in Salespath for greater visibility into the conversion rate of a specific item or category.
If your team is looking for insight into how successfully you are selling a specific item or item type beyond just memberships, you can set up custom data categorization. Any categories you create will appear with their own widget on your dashboard, including eligible cars, target percentages, and conversion rate for that category.
How to create a Data Category
| Available to: Tenant Admins |
- From the Salespath navigation menu, click Settings > Data Categorization.
- Click Create Category.
- Under Basic Settings, fill out the following fields:
- Name: A name for this category.
- Target Percentage: Enter your target (goal) conversion rate for this item category.
- Salespath Points: Set the number of Salespath points that Salespeople will earn for selling items in this category (optional).
- Experience Points (XP): Set the number of XP that Salespeople will earn for selling items in this category (optional).
- Restrict to eligible transaction types: Check this box to limit conversions in this category to the transaction types selected in the Transaction Configuration section.
- Under Transaction Configuration, set the eligibility rules for this category:
- Eligible Transaction Types: The types of transactions that will count toward eligible cars for this category (e.g., Retail, House Accounts, etc.)
- Associated Line Items: You can further restrict eligible cars by requiring eligible transactions to include a specific line item or set of items. Click Pull from POS and add the desired items.
- Under Category Items, choose the specific line items that will be counted toward this category's sales.
- Click Pull from POS > select Add on applicable items. Alternatively, if the item does not appear in the list, you can add items manually by selecting Add Item and entering the exact name of the item as it appears in the POS.
- Click Create Category to finish.
You will now see your conversion rate for this category on the home dashboard. Category stats will appear on the home dashboard for all roles.
You can additionally set a specific data category to use on your dashboards under Settings > Tenant Settings, which will remove the Category Stats widget and instead, incorporate your category customizations throughout multiple aspects of your dashboards. For more details, see Tenant Settings.
