Provide and track structured weekly feedback with the Weekly Guided Coaching tool in Salespath
What is Weekly Guided Coaching and why do we need it?
The single most important behavior that drives success from site managers is active coaching. Salespath already gives you full transparency into sales performance with audio files, dashboards, and reports. But data alone doesn’t change behavior. That’s why we built the Weekly Guided Coaching tool—to make coaching simple, structured, and repeatable.
By guiding site managers step-by-step, this tool ensures every salesperson gets meaningful feedback every week. We strongly encourage sales leaders to make this a mandatory weekly activity for all site managers.
Weekly Guided Coaching (for Site Managers)
| Available to: Site Managers, Tenant Admins |
Site Managers will use the Weekly Guided Coaching tool to provide structured, consistent feedback to their Salespeople. Site Managers will be able to perform coaching sessions for their default location, plus any location where they are designated as the primary Site Manager.
Tenant Admins can view all Site Managers' coaching sessions.
Note: There will not be coaching sessions for non-Salesperson users (i.e. Admins and Site Managers with Salesperson Mode enabled).
When It Runs
- Each Monday morning, Salespath compiles the Guided Weekly Coaching tool with the previous week’s data.
- You can launch the tool anytime during the week—but the goal is to complete it consistently, week after week.
Coaching Reminder on the Dashboard
During an active weekly coaching cycle, Site Managers will see a coaching progress card at the top of their Salespath dashboard. This card is designed to keep coaching top of mind throughout the week without requiring you to navigate anywhere.
The card displays three things:
- Completion progress — how many of this week's assigned coaching sessions you've submitted so far
- Top 3 presentation themes — the most common AI coaching feedback tips your salespeople received this week, so you can see what patterns are emerging across your team
- Coaching streak — the number of consecutive weeks you've completed all of your assigned coaching. Your streak increases by one each week you finish all sessions, and resets to zero if you miss a week.
How to use Weekly Guided Coaching
-
Launch the Weekly Guided Coaching tool from the navigation menu by clicking Coaching > Weekly Guided Coaching.
- Once you launch the tool, on the left-hand side, you’ll see a list of all salespeople who gave at least one presentation at their default location during the past week.
-
You will begin with the Salesperson at the top of the list. Click their name, and you’ll see all of their relevant data along with easy access to their audio files. You can toggle between the Presentations, AI Scores, Lifetime Stats, and Gamification tabs to get an in-depth look at their past week's performance.
- Review their performance data and listen to at least a few presentations.
-
Use the Manager Feedback window to write a coaching message. Messages should be encouraging and productive, but also specific. Once complete, click Submit Feedback.
- Example: “Great job connecting with the customer quickly. Next week, let’s focus on explaining the value of each of the wash packages.”
-
Note: Site Managers must leave Attach Previous Week Performance Stats checked in order for this coaching session to be marked as complete. You may also send feedback messages without including previous week stats, but these messages will not count as completed sessions and will appear as normal Chat messages for Salespeople.
- Tenant Admins can also write follow-up messages in the feedback window, but these will not count toward feedback session completions.
- You can also attach saved audio bookmarks to your coaching message. In the Manager Feedback window, select Attach Audio Bookmarks to choose clips you've previously saved. Attached clips will be visible to the salesperson when they view their feedback—they can play each clip individually. Bookmark notes are not shown to the salesperson.
-
Your coaching message is delivered to the salesperson via the Chat, along with a basic performance report.
- Once your feedback has been delivered, you'll automatically advance to the next Salesperson on the list. Repeat the process until you’ve completed all coaching for the week. You will now see green checkmarks next to each person’s name. On the following Monday, the tool will reset and the icons will change back to a gray clock icon to indicate that the Salesperson is awaiting feedback.
- If you cannot go through all salespeople in one session, you can leave and come back and your progress will be saved within the week.
Good Coaching Principles
Frontline coaching works best when it is:
- Consistent – Weekly feedback keeps performance moving forward.
- Specific – Point out concrete behaviors (tone of voice, timing, closing question).
- Balanced – Recognize what went well and call out what needs work.
- Action-Oriented – Give one or two things to focus on for the next week.
Weekly Guided Coaching Report (for Sales Leaders)
| Available to: Tenant Admins only |
As a sales leader, your role is to ensure that site managers are actually coaching every week and using this tool. To help with this, use the Weekly Guided Coaching report (under Reports > Weekly Guided Coaching Report) to see which managers are completing their weekly coaching.
The report will show you:
- The manager name
- The number of coaching sessions completed for the given time frame
- The salesperson name
- The date that coaching feedback was given
- The date that coaching feedback was acknowledged by the Salesperson
- The original feedback given (if completed)
