PIN-based login lets salespeople sign in to Salespath using a simple 8-digit numeric PIN — no username or password required — making it faster and easier to use on shared tablets at wash locations.
Overview
PIN login is an optional feature that can be enabled in your Salespath account. Once enabled, salespeople with a PIN assigned can log in from the standard Salespath login page by selecting Login with PIN. Admins and managers must still use their username and password.
How to get PIN-based Login enabled in your Salespath account
Please contact Rinsed Support (support@rinsed.co), Customer Success (customersuccess@rinsed.co), or your dedicated CSM to enable PIN-Based Login. Be sure to let our team know whether or not you would like PIN-based login to be required on tablets once enabled.
Setting Up PINs for Salespeople
| Available to: Tenant Admins, Site Managers |
To add a PIN for a Salesperson:
- Go to Settings > User Management
- Create a new salesperson or click Edit on an existing one
- Enter an 8-digit numeric PIN in the PIN field
- Click Save
Keep in mind that:
- PINs can only be set by a tenant admin or site manager.
- Salespeople cannot set or change their own PINs.
- Each user must have a unique PIN; PINs cannot be shared across multiple users.
How Salespeople Log In with a PIN
- On the Salespath login page, tap or click Login with PIN
- Enter your 8-digit PIN and you're in!
If PIN login is required on tablets, the PIN login screen appears by default. Salespeople can still tap Login with Username to use their username and password instead.
Security
- PINs must be exactly 8 numeric digits
- The following PIN patterns are rejected for security reasons:
- All same digit (e.g., 00000000, 11111111, 22222222)
- Ascending sequences (e.g., 12345678, 23456789, 34567890)
- Descending sequences (e.g., 87654321, 98765432)
- After 10 failed login attempts, the account is locked out for 30 minutes (lockout is applied per tenant)
- When a salesperson has 3 or fewer attempts remaining, a warning is displayed on screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can managers or admins use PIN login? No. PIN login is only available to salesperson-role users.
What happens if a salesperson forgets their PIN? Only an admin can reset a PIN. They can do so by going to User Management, editing the user, and entering a new 8-digit PIN.
Can a salesperson use both PIN and username/password login? Yes. As long as they have a PIN assigned, they can choose either method from the login screen.
Does PIN login work on non-tablet devices? PIN login is available on any device where Salespath is accessed. The "Require PIN on Tablets" option, which can be enabled by the Rinsed team, only forces the PIN screen as the default on enrolled tablets — it does not restrict PIN login to tablets.
Can PINs be added in bulk? PINs cannot currently be added via Bulk Edit or Bulk Upload.
