Learn how Salespeople earn and customize Points and XP in Salespath to unlock rewards, ranks, and higher commissions.
How do Salespeople earn Points?
Salespeople can earn two types of points in Salespath:
- Marketplace points- we will call these simply "points." Points accrue automatically and are bankable, meaning they can be saved up and redeemed whenever the Salesperson would like. Salespeople do not need to have a reward selected in order to accrue points.
- Experience Points - we will call these "XP."
Salespeople primarily earn points and XP by selling memberships, but can also earn extra points for selling specific items, collecting contact information, and more. The Ways to Earn section will explain in detail all the ways that Salespeople can earn points and XP.
What are Points and XP for?
Points are used to redeem rewards in the Salespath Marketplace.
XP are used to advance to a higher rank. Ranks unlock different reward tiers and may move a Salesperson up to a new tier in their commission plan.
Ways to earn Points and XP
There are three ways to earn Points and XP in Salespath: by event type, by category, and by item.
Earn points for common event types
There are four actions for which Salespeople can earn points and XP:
- New Member Sign Up - This will trigger when a customer signs up for a new membership.
- Attributed Transaction - This will trigger anytime a salesperson is attributed to a POS transaction. This includes both tight and loose matches.
- Tight Match Attribution - This will trigger each time the salesperson is attributed and it is categorized as a tight match. This occurs when the presentation is started and stopped BEFORE the POS transaction timestamp.
- CRM Contact Form Filled - This will trigger each time the salesperson is attributed and it is categorized as a tight match. This occurs when the presentation is started and stopped BEFORE the POS transaction timestamp.
Earn points for item categories
You can create Data Categories in Salespath to group specific item type sales. For example, Salespeople might earn extra points or XP for sales in the washbook category.
Earn points for specific item sales
If there is a particular item you would like to incentive selling, you can edit the points/XP for that item in your commission plan. For example, if you are running a promotion on your top membership package, you might set extra points or XP for Graphene membership sales.
Manually award or deduct points
For information about manual point adjustments, see Manually Award or Deduct Salespath Points.

How to edit XP defaults for each Rank tier
Rank Plans determine the name of each Rank and XP required to reach it. Most washes use the Default rank plan system; however, you can create a custom Rank Plan with the help of Rinsed Support or our Customer Success Team. Using a custom plan, you can choose the name of each rank, and the minimum XP required to reach that rank.
If you are using a custom rank plan, our team can help you adjust the XP defaults for each rank tier. Please contact Rinsed Customer Support or your Customer Success Manager to create or edit a custom rank plan.
